The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach
BEAUTIFUL BOOK! We all loved it, wanted to marry it and make babies with it. It was that good. The story was compelling; the characters were so well-developed that we cared deeply the characters and their struggles. The author plays out the battles of unrequited love, failure and self-doubt, and the agony of growing older all on a pretty little college campus. Between the baseball and the Moby Dick references we are equally entranced by the symbolism. Long live the great American novel, and welcome The Art of Fielding to its cannon.
