The Help

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Egg on my face, or is that poo?  Having a chat (as an American) with a group of Canadians about slavery in the south made me feel angry and embarrassed for how we treated African Americans (it also made me thankful I paid attention in Social Studies).  This book brought about a lot of discussion about women who have no voice and about marriage now and in the past.  We also talked about how the relationships/friendships between women form can be some of the strongest ever created.  Go girls!
